How does MDF-500 work?
MDF-500's decontamination formula is a complex mixture of organic and inorganic chemicals that produce simultaneous reactions that can destroy both chemical and biological materials on contact. Chemical formulas, such as MDF-500, that destroys spore-forming microorganisms is called a Sporicide, to be synonymous with the term - Sterilizer. A sterilizer is an antimicrobial chemical formula that destroys or eliminates all form of microbial life in the inanimate environment, including bacterial spores. Bacterial spores are the most difficult of all microorganisms to destroy. Therefore, if a formula can destroy spores it can eradicate all types of microorganism (all types of bacteria fungi, mold, viruses and spores).

MDF 500 for smoke works in reverse, the Peroxide finishes the oxidation process started by the fire (this is what causes the odour) and then the detergent in part A is a very effective tool for washing away the smoke residue.
Example -
Anthrax Anthrax is a spore-forming microorganism called an endospore. An endospore 4s a dormant non-reproductive structure produced by certain bacteria. The formation of an endospore is typically triggered by a lack of nutrients and usually occurs in Gram positive bacteria in endospore formation when it divides within its cell wall. One side that engulfs the other. MDF-500 destroys endospores by disrupting the cell wall or by weakening the cytoplasmic membrane which allows MDF to enter the cell and interrupt cellular metabolism and reproduction. MDF-500 also changes the osmotic pressure around the cell, which causes an imbalance in the internal cellular pressure resulting in the total collapse of the cellular membrane.

EBOLA The Ebola outbreak in West Africa is of obvious concern to all Ministries of Public Health. To understand how MDF500 destroys Ebola one must first understand the efficacy of the product and why it is the best choice for the decontamination of the Ebola virus. Anthrax is one of the most difficult microorganism-isms to destroy because it is a bacterial endospore (see above example) and can survive in the environment for years. When MDF-500 is applied to Anthrax it is destroyed in minutes. Ebola is a microorganism that is not protected by a spore like Anthrax and when MDF500 is applied to contaminated surfaces the Ebola virus is instantly destroyed along with every other microorganism present. MDF500 is two-part application consisting of a biodegradable mixture of cationic detergents, fatty alcohols and stabilized hydrogen peroxide and water. MDF-500 is approved for hospital use by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Most recently, the Dubai Government (Dubai Municipality) approved the use of MDF-500 for the decontamination of HVAC Duct systems. MDF-500 is 1000 times less corrosive than bleach and only caries a hazard rating of 1 on a scale of 0-4 (Common bleach carries a hazard rating of 4).

How is MDF-500 applied?
MDF-500 can be applied as a fog (atomized mist), foam or spray. The fog application is the preferred application method as it allows for not only horizontal surface decontamination but ALL surfaces present. In other words, the fog application completely decontaminates every surface in a room. The exact application procedures will vary depending on the circumstances. Our subject matter experts can consult with your team of experts to assess your needs and provide site-specific application procedures (to include written application procedures) with hands-on training after you take delivery of your MDF-500. EPA approved application equipment will be proposed as part of our overall solution.
Adenosine Triphosphate
Adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the universal energy molecule found in all bacteria and mold cells. We measure ATP levels to determine contamination levels.
Ways to Apply
Liquid spray.
Pump-up sprayers or spray bottles can apply MDF-500 as a liquid spray. Spraying MDF-500 as a liquid is beneficial when treating "hot spots" for mold or pet stains before fogging.
Foam.
Foaming sprayers inject air into the product to produce a foam. As a foam, the MDF-500 product will remain in contact with a surface longer than when applied as a liquid spray.
Mist / Fog.
ULV-foggers (Ultra Low Volume), also known as wet-foggers, can apply MDF-500 as a spray mist. The mist dispenses the product as an aerosol into an airspace and allows control over the amount of product wetting a surface.
